There are three general detector technologies which are used in the search for a direct detection of Dark Matter: Ionization, Scintillation, and Heat. Several experiments that are currently searching for dark matter use a combination of these technologies in order to better discriminate between different types of signals. In this talk, I will discuss the relative merits of these three technologies, as well as give an overview of specific implementations of the technologies in current experiments.
